Our blog challenge for this week is to post about what our family and life are like right now - so that we can look back in a year to see all the changes. Which really made me reflect on this past year.
Thinking back to one year ago I can tell you so much has changed. New Year's Eve for example signaled a shift in our regular group of friends. Some friendships have grown stronger and others have moved on. I've learned a lot about people in general over this past year and realize that you should hold good friends close and let go of the ones who keep you at a distance. I exposed myself to a lot of heartbreak in 2007, trusting too many people and allowing them to take advantage of me, and my children. Specifically my own mother. As I rebuild my wall in 2008 I appreciate the friends that love me for who I am and accept me for all of my flaws. I want to work harder to be a better wife and mother to my two growing children. In the past year I turned 30!!! I have watched my daughter transform into a young lady, starting Kindergarten, Cheerleading and losing her first tooth. My son is growing into a little man, no longer a baby, he's stepping out into a world where he is becoming more independent, and conquering new challenges every day. Just a year ago, he was moving from a crib to his big boy twin bed. I can t imagine what 2008 will hold for him.
As I begin my 31st year I am looking forward to many sucesses and joyous times with my family and friends. Meet you right back here Jan 1, 2009.
